Not everyone has that evergreen mood of feeling GOOD about themselves. Some tend to feel down about the way they look, or the way they talk, or the way they laugh. I mainly started writing this blog post because even I have come across some very difficult times. My relatives would say I weigh too much, or don’t dress like that, or why are you having breakouts. I mean it is natural for a person to have breakouts and it is not your fault. This ultimate guide to feeling good about yourself and will surely come in handy for those blue days.
ULTIMATE GUIDE RULE 1: NOT YOUR FAULT
So the first thing to remember is it is NOT YOUR FAULT. Some people forget that. You’re beautiful the way you are, and you should appreciate that. There is nothing wrong with your body and your mind. Only when you feel insecure about it, others can make you feel even worse. When I had acne, my relatives weren’t too comfortable with that. I know that they ask about you only because they care for your well being. But sometimes it can be hurtful. They kept pestering me like” what is it, why did it happen, when will it go, did you put on makeup, try some of my home remedies”. All I did was nod my head silently because I was on the verge of crying. The second rule is YOU OWN YOUR BODY. As I explained in the previous paragraph, you should own up to your body. You should feel comfortable with your own body. no one can tell you what you should wear or what you can’t wear. You should feel proud of the way you look. But there are exceptions sometimes. When you are overweight, it is time to shed some pounds. And I say this not because some dresses won’t fit you but it might harm your health. Just try to make sure you are healthy. Because a healthy body is a beautiful body.
ULTIMATE GUIDE RULE 3 : LOVE YOURSELF
The third rule is LOVE YOURSELF. Not just being comfortable with yourself is enough. Love yourself because no one can love you like yourself. Treating yourself to that extra massage or an extra trip to that spa doesn’t mean you’re being selfish or over the top. Buy yourself gifts. Make some healthy food for yourself and don’t take a lot of trips to that nearest taco bell. Jam to the loudest music and dance your butt off. Take some alone time for yourself. Focus on your mental health. Practice meditation or go take a few yoga classes. Your body will love you for it. Stay hydrated all the time. There are a lot of ways to love yourself.
RULE 4: DO WHAT YOU LOVE
The last rule in this ultimate guide for feeling good about yourself is to do WHAT YOU LOVE. Don’t just sit behind a desk all day and do something you hate. One of the main reasons why I started this blog was because I had a passion, a love, for writing and I wanted to share it with others. I also love baking even though I end up eating most of it(wink wink). But I still enjoy every single moment doing something I love. This doesn’t mean you get to quit your job and focus on what you love, because it might work sometimes or it might not work. So try to take some time to practice what you love. Get better at it. Be the best at it. And all the while you’re doing it, you feel happy, you feel wonderful, you feel good about yourself, because ultimately you’re going to be good at it. Of course, everyone fails at first, but that doesn’t mean you should stop and go back to the old days. You should keep going.
RULE 5: SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE
The fifth rule is to SPEND TIME WITH PEOPLE YOU LOVE. For me, it is my family. I spend quite a lot of time with them. I share my day with them and how I socialized with people. We have all our three meals together and that’s wonderful because it is sharing time. No matter what, a family is always there for you. They will give you advice and suggest you take another approach to things, and they will share their day. If you’re not very open to your family or you guys don’t get to hang out together, then turn to your friends. Friends will listen to you, yes they might make fun of you at first, but they always will listen to you and their advice might not be as great as your parents because they’re the same age as you, but they sure as hell know how to cheer you up.
